Rebelgods Bomber Jacket
AW 2002 Witches Cell Division
A quintessential example of Jun Takahashi’s early work. Tonally, the bomber perfectly illustrates the brand’s edgy sensibilities. In addition it’s construction appeals to both a casual and veteran undercover maniac. The collection that introduced this bomber pulled graphic motifs from witch mythology, such as the crosses that adorn the lining of the garment. The now iconic catchphrase “rebelgods” is a condensed adaptation of the 19th century english anarchist slogan “Neither Gods nor Masters.” This catchphrase is rendered in thick plastisol ink that starkly contrasts the smooth velvet exterior.
