Martin Margiela’s eponymous line, “010” sought to create artisanal garments utilizing vintage, antique, or hand selected fabrics. Resulted in pieces that served as the foundation for Margiela’s core designs for years to come. Due to the nature of the artisanal line’s design ethos, each piece has slight variations from one another because of the handmade aspect of each garment.
This denim vest is hand painted and features cut-out holes where the sleeves would be. As it ages, the paint will gradually chip away, revealing the original color of the garment.
